State troopers responded to a two-car crash between a Mercedes and a Volkswagen just before 2 p.m., New Jersey State Police Detective Detective Jeffrey Lebron said. The Mercedes was traveling northbound and attempting to make a left turn when it collided with the Volkswagen traveling southbound, Lebron said.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 20-year-old Sussex resident, sustained moderate injuries while an 18-year-old Sussex resident, a passenger in the vehicle, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The driver of the Mercedes sustained minor injuries, Lebron said.
